Welcome to Backroad Bullies! We are a small breeder of Top Quality English Bulldog puppies in Northeastern Oklahoma. We only have a few litters a year. We are committed to improving the breed and only breeding a select few litters a year of exceptional bulldogs. Quality not quantity is our main focus. My husband and I purchased our first English Bulldog together in 2001, the year we got married. Doing a lot of research and trying to find a puppy that had a great bloodline and also built the way a bulldog should be built proved to be hard. We decided we wanted to try to breed a few litters ourselves and have the kind of puppies that were so hard to find, to offer to other bulldog lovers. We had several litters of outstanding bullies over the years. We had our own females and then bred to Champion males through artificial insemination. I decided to take a few years off to spend with my kids, but now that they are a little older we have decided to get back into breeding. Upon researching and looking for a few younger bulldogs I saw my first blue bulldog. I just loved them and decided that is what I wanted to breed. We also have introduced Black Tri and Dark Chocolate bloodlines to our breeding program. I read a lot about AKC breeders not being happy about this color being bred and that they would cause health issues with the breed. I would never want to breed anything that would cause harm to the breed or puppies health so I continued research. To my findings the rare colored bulldogs are by no means unhealthy, but may even have less health problems than some of the standard colors because they introduce new blood lines. Many breeders will only breed to certain "Champion" bloodlines which results in a lot of line breeding and can cause certain health problems. We live on a small family operated farm and our bulldogs are part of our family. Every litter we raised were right in our kitchen and had 24 hour a day care. I believe this makes for a well adjusted happy puppy. If you have never owned a bulldog before please research the breed before deciding to get one. If you decide this is the breed for you I hope we can help you find the perfect puppy. Thank you for stopping by and please check out the rest of our website and come back often.
